Kim Jong-un, the head of the North Korean State Council, executed his aunt, Jang Sung-taek, and then exhibited a beheaded body as an example to North Korean officials.

This is Bob Woodward's book'Rage', which is about to be published next week.
The book, written by direct interviews with President Trump, also includes a lot about North Korea's Chairman Kim Jong-un, and AFP reports that the book that was obtained in advance also includes details about the execution of Chairman Kim's aunt, Jang Sung-taek.
The report, which was excerpted from Woodward's book, said that President Trump had been told by Chairman Kim that he had executed his aunt Jang Sung-taek and then displayed the beheaded body to executives.
In an interview with Woodward, President Trump said that Chairman Kim "tells everything," said his aunt Jang Sung-taek's body was displayed on the stairs of a building used by senior North Korean officials.
It is interpreted to mean that the body was cruelly executed to set an example to senior North Korean officials.
Jang Sung-taek, who was executed on charges of treason and corruption in 2013, has been reported on several occasions that he was killed by an anti-aircraft gun, but there has been no official announcement on the method of execution.
The AFP news agency said it was the first time that Jang Sung-taek's beheading was mentioned, and that President Trump viewed it as bringing up such a story to show off his closeness with Chairman Kim.
