In a statement yesterday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation praised the decision of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and expressed its hope that this step would have a positive impact on the climate of peace and cooperation regionally and internationally.

The ministry indicated that the Kingdom of Bahrain's decision to direct relations with the State of Israel is an important step to enhance security and prosperity in the region, stressing that this step would expand the scope of economic, cultural, scientific and diplomatic cooperation.

Trump had tweeted on his official account on Twitter, saying: “Another historic achievement today!

"Our two great friends, Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain, agree to a peace agreement."

Trump published the news on Twitter, after speaking by phone with the King of Bahrain, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, according to what the White House announced.

A statement issued by Bahrain stated that King Hamad bin Isa received a phone call from Trump, with the participation of Netanyahu.

During the call, the King of Bahrain stressed "the necessity to reach a just and comprehensive peace, as a strategic option, in accordance with the two-state solution and relevant international legitimacy decisions," praising "the pivotal role the US administration plays and its tireless efforts to advance the peace process."

In light of this phone call, a Bahraini - American - Israeli tripartite statement was issued, stating that King Hamad bin Isa, Trump and Netanyahu had agreed during the phone call "to establish full diplomatic relations between Israel and the Kingdom of Bahrain."

The statement added: "This is a historic step towards achieving peace in the Middle East, as dialogue and direct relations between the two active societies and the two advanced economies would build on the current positive transformation in the Middle East and support stability, security and prosperity in the region."

The statement continued, "This is a historic breakthrough to promote peace in the Middle East."

The statement added, "The two parties will continue their efforts in this regard to reach a just, comprehensive and lasting solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, to enable the Palestinian people to realize their full potential."

For its part, Israel affirmed that “As stated in the peace vision, all Muslims will be able to come peacefully to pray in the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and all other holy sites in Jerusalem will remain open to all worshipers of different religions.”

The advisor to the Bahraini monarch for diplomatic affairs and the former foreign minister, Sheikh Khalid Al Khalifa, considered that the agreement to normalize his country's relations with Israel "is in the interest of the region's security, stability and prosperity."

In the first official Bahraini comment on the agreement announced by the US President, the high-ranking official said, “The declaration of establishing relations between the Kingdom of Bahrain and Israel is in the interest of the region’s security, stability and prosperity,” adding that the agreement “sends a positive and encouraging message to the people of Israel, that a just and comprehensive peace is with the people. The Palestinian is the best way. ”

For his part, the Israeli Prime Minister said after the US President’s announcement that the agreement is "a new era for peace."

"We have invested in peace for many years, and now peace is investing in us, and it will bring really big investments, and this is very important," Netanyahu said in a statement.
