On the 11th, President Moon Jae-in visited the Emergency Situation Center of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do to award a letter of appointment to the new Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

This is the first time that the Moon Jae-in administration has awarded a letter of appointment for a minister or vice minister outside the Blue House.

The previous government also occasionally held a presentation ceremony at the Seoul Government Complex, but it is said that the President has never visited the front line.

In the end, this awarding ceremony became the first'on-site appointment ceremony' considering the country in case of emergency.

In an urgent situation likened to the war, the president's site visit is necessary not only to add the trouble of going to the Blue House, but also to boost morale of the KCDC staff, who is the general commander. It seems to contain judgment.

It is also unusual for the president to directly award a letter of appointment to the vice minister.

Until now, the president gave a letter of appointment to the minister, but most of the vice-minister-level was delivered by the prime minister instead.

In the Moon Jae-in administration, President Moon gave a letter of appointment to the Maritime Police Commissioner Kim Hong-hee in March and the Security Guard Chief Yeon-sang Yeon-sang in May, but such cases were rare.
