This week, Norrbotten has had three new confirmed cases of covid-19.

But everyone is connected to a company in Kiruna where they got a spread to relatives.

Get rid of the virus

Last week, 2,900 tests were also taken, which showed that only 0.2 percent carried the coronavirus.

2,900 people is just over one percent of the population, which indicates that there is hardly any spread of infection in Norrbotten right now.

- The population behaves in a reasonably correct way.

Then I think that the infection tracker tool is very good when we look for those who have been exposed, they ask to be tested and be extra careful, says infection control doctor Anders Nystedt at Region Norrbotten.

Affected counties are now calmest

Norrbotten County also stands out as one of the quieter regions in Sweden, despite the large outbreak in Gällivare.

The same applies to Sörmland, which was hit hard by covid-19.

- Somehow it looks like it is calmest in the regions that have had the hottest ears, says Anders Nystedt.

Small risk of "a new Gällivare"

There has been a lot of talk about a second wave during the autumn, but according to the infection control doctor Anders Nystedt, it currently looks relatively calm - if everyone has the strength to continue to take care of themselves.

- There will be some kind of spread of infection during the autumn, of course.

But the risk that it will be as bad as in Gällivare is not huge anymore.
