Chavismo: The eight Venezuelan shadows of Zapatero
'Case Delcy'. The PP denounces the judge that Interior "previously knew" about Delcy Rodríguez's trip to Madrid
Vice President
Delcy Rodriguez,
Nicolás Maduro's
right-hand man
,
continues to accumulate power in Bolivarian Venezuela.
The Official Gazette of the Bolivarian Revolution has published this Wednesday the appointment of the 51-year-old lawyer as the new minister in charge of Economy and Finance.
In this way, he replaced his predecessor,
Simón Zerpa
, whose position within Chavismo had deteriorated in recent months.
Maduro began the renewal of his cabinet days ago with the intention of replacing the eight ministers who will attend the December parliamentary elections, among them
Jorge Rodríguez,
Delcy's brother and left hand of the "son of Chávez."
The two Rodríguezes have faced the country since the start of the pandemic in March, even the former Minister of Communication and Tourism was infected last month.
Delcy, a key player for Maduro, already served as his foreign minister in 2013 in the midst of battle against rival governments in the region.
Now he assumes an area that he does not know, but that serves Maduro to place his trusted wife at the center of economic power, until now in the hands of the vice president of the area and oil czar, Tareck El Aissami.
Chavismo justified the new appointments, including that of Delcy, in that it is a question of "a government team that makes it possible to achieve the highest socialist efficiency in the country, through a high-level scientific management scheme."
The Rodríguez brothers maintain close communication with
José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero,
even in the political lies in Caracas it is ensured that the former head of the Spanish government seeks that Brussels eliminates his veto on the vice president, taking advantage of the agreements reached between Maduro and
Henrique Capriles
, former candidate presidential opposition.
"Venezuela has seven consecutive years in recession and three in hyperinflation. Without a team of competent economists there is no possibility of reversing the cycle of economic disaster," criticized economist José Manuel Puente.
The little girl of the Rodríguez family is sanctioned by the
US Treasury Department
and also by the
European Union,
which in January caused the famous incident in Barajas with the socialist minister José Luis Ábalos.
Rodríguez is prohibited from entering the Schegen space countries, but her transit at the Madrid airport, the several hours she spent in its facilities, the destination of her suitcases and the contradictions of the head of Transportation caused a real political scandal.
Almost a quarter of the military remains in the new cabinet, Maduro's main support in the country.
