10 September 2020 An 8-year-old child of a second grade class at the International School of Florence, an American private school based in Bagno a Ripoli, near Florence and, according to what we read on La Nazione, tested positive for Coronavirus , the child's class and the two teachers have ended up in quarantine.

This morning, the ASL specifies that in quarantine, in the same school, in addition to the 8-year-old child, another second grade class and the respective two teachers were also placed.

In total, 25 children and four teachers are now under health surveillance.

According to what has been learned, the two classes met during recess on the first day of school and therefore the health authorities fear a potential transmission of the virus, which is why the protocols were triggered.

The American institute resumed lessons on 3 September last and is one of the first schools in Florence and in the province to have restarted teaching.
