At around 6:00 pm on August 4, local time, a huge explosion occurred in the port area of ​​Beirut, the capital of Lebanon. Many houses were damaged, glass was shattered, and pink mushroom clouds and thick smoke rose in the sky.

  At noon on the 10th local time, a black smoke billowed from the port area, and an orange flame rose from the ground.

The Lebanese military stated that the fire occurred in a warehouse for storing oil and tires in the port's duty-free zone, adding that fire fighting is still in progress and military helicopters are participating in the fire fighting operation.

  The local TV station said that companies with offices near the port have asked employees to leave the area.

The Lebanese army closed the main road leading to other areas.
