Dubai Electricity and Water Authority emphasized the importance of customers conducting periodic checks for internal water connections in homes, buildings and facilities, to detect any leaks in installations and repair with the help of a specialized technician, in a way that contributes to rationalizing consumption, stopping waste and reducing costs for the customer, as part of its annual campaign «Let us make this summer green », And as part of its efforts to instill a culture of sustainability among members of society.

Khawla Al Muhairi, Executive Vice President of the Governmental Strategy and Communication Sector at the authority, confirmed the efficiency of the authority’s systems in detecting any defects in the external connections before the meter, noting that the scope of the authority’s responsibility for connections and maintenance is limited to the meter, while the responsibility for the internal connections after the meter rests with the customer. This includes the residential, commercial and industrial sectors.

She pointed out that the "Notification of High Water Consumption" service, as part of the smart response initiative launched by the authority, helps customers discover any potential leaks in the water connections after the meter.
