As one of the eight democratic parties in China, since 2016, the China Democratic National Construction Association, together with other democratic parties, has undertaken the work of democratic supervision for poverty alleviation.

Recently, Li Shijie, vice chairman and secretary-general of the Central Committee of the Democratic National Construction Association, said in an exclusive interview with a reporter from China News Agency that in recent years, the Central Committee of the Democratic National Construction Association has given full play to its own advantages and conducted multi-level investigations in towns, villages, and fields. process.

After accepting the task, the Central Committee of the China Democratic National Construction Association attached great importance to it and established a working leadership group with the chairman and vice-chairmen as the team leader and deputy team leader.
More than 300 experts in the conference were organized and visited more than 30 poor counties and 100 poor villages in Guangxi.
During the investigation, we found problems. We communicated with the Guangxi Party Committee and the government on these problems, basically researching and implementing them one by one.

At the same time, the Central Committee of the Democratic National Construction Association insists on integrating supervision into assistance. It not only finds problems in the process of poverty alleviation and democratic supervision, but also finds ways to solve problems.

While supervising, we take practical actions to tackle poverty alleviation.
We mobilized entrepreneurs to help the poor in Guangxi and contributed to 75.5 billion contracted projects. This achievement is quite significant.
In addition, from "two no worries and three guarantees" to solve the problem of the people's draft problem, we also coordinated the fund of 9.5 million yuan, (built) "concentric water tanks" to solve the draft problem, and in addition to education and poverty alleviation, including housing. A lot of work has been done.
[Explanation] In addition, Li Shijie introduced that issues such as poverty alleviation and open development in border areas, and follow-up policy support for poverty alleviation and relocation are important supervision directions and contents of the Central Democratic National Construction Association.

To alleviate the poor, we must first support the intelligence, and we must focus on education. This is one of our priorities.
Rural education is relatively backward, relatively closed, and the level of education is limited.
After seeing this problem, we were very anxious.
It is organized by the Central Committee of the Democratic National Construction Association, using the channel of the China Siyuan Project Poverty Alleviation Foundation, and mobilizing organizations at all levels to participate, and we will do education and poverty alleviation work.
We have a sailing class. The sailing class is to help children from poor families and children who graduated from elementary school to attend junior high school.
So far we have held 41 sailing classes (in Guangxi), and a total of 2,060 students have been trained.
Therefore, we spare no effort in intellectual poverty alleviation.
[Explanation] 94.72% of the currently graduated sailing class students are admitted to key high schools at the city and county levels, and the fate of many children and their families has changed as a result.

The achievements of the democratic supervision of poverty alleviation have also fully demonstrated the determination and ability of China Democratic National Construction Association to participate in poverty alleviation, and demonstrated the unique advantages and practical results of the new political party system.

In 2012, the number of poor people in our country was nearly 100 million, or 98.99 million.
So we have lifted more than 10 million people out of poverty every year for seven consecutive years. Then last year (2019), the incidence of poverty dropped from 10.2% to 0.6%. Such a huge achievement is very rare in the world.
For the fundamental interests of the people, we have invested tremendous efforts to mobilize the people of the whole country, including democratic parties, to participate in this great project, so we are very proud and proud.
