Social media users in Egypt shared a video of a train official asking an army soldier to pay for a ticket, leave the train, or hand it over to the Military Police.

A woman paid the soldier's ticket, saying she had children the same age, amid attempts by the soldier to return the ticket to the woman.

The video angered social media users, who at the same time praised the woman's stance and her interference.

The Egyptian Ministry of Transport apologized in a statement about the situation, stressing that it "respects and respects all workers on the railway to the public in general and all members of the valiant armed forces and the police in particular."

The statement added that "the perpetrators of the incident were suspended from duty and referred for immediate investigation."

The military spokesman for the Egyptian army also issued a statement confirming its "respect for all state institutions," referring to the armed forces ’appreciation for the" measures taken by the Ministry of Transport. "

The statement extended "sincere thanks and appreciation to the great Egyptian lady, who witnessed the incident on the train and insisted on paying the price of the ticket."

The statement emphasized that what the lady did "is an expression of the authenticity of the Egyptian woman, who carries in her heart a lot of generosity, humanity and motherhood."
