The Islamic Jihad movement called on the Palestinian Authority to withdraw from the Arab League after dropping the meeting of Arab foreign ministers yesterday, Wednesday, of a Palestinian draft resolution to reject the Emirati normalization with Israel, while Ankara condemned the outcomes of the Arab ministerial meeting yesterday, especially preventing the issuance of a decision condemning the Emirati-Israeli agreement.

The head of the political department of the Jihad Movement, Muhammad al-Hindi, said in a statement today that the Arab League "represents today countries that abandon Palestine, embrace Israel and refuse to condemn normalization."

Al-Hindi added that the Arab League "does not represent its living people who are always loyal to Palestine."

The Palestinian ambassador to the Arab League, Muhannad Al-Aklouk, said Wednesday evening that the meeting of Arab foreign ministers dropped a draft resolution submitted by Palestine condemning the normalization agreement between the UAE and Israel.

The Palestinian diplomat added that his country was surprised that some Arab countries - which he did not mention - did not adhere to the agreed text, but rather tried to add clauses that would legitimize the normalization agreement between Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv.

A new sad day in the history of the Arabs and the history of the Palestinian cause‼ ️

Is this fall revealing or a constructor of the university's truth?

Generations will witness that the Arabs colluded, under pressure from threats and interests, to sell # Palestine. # Normalization_ Betrayal pic.twitter.com/wak4YYs8oi

Hamas’s Position

Yesterday, the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) expressed its regret that the Arab League had dropped the draft resolution condemning the normalization agreement between the UAE and Israel.

The movement said in a statement that "the university’s inability to issue this decision tempts the occupation government and the American administration to continue implementing the liquidation plan for the Palestinian issue."

The National Authority and the factions in Palestine have strongly criticized the Israeli-Emirati normalization agreement, describing it as a betrayal and a stab in the back and a departure from the Arab consensus and the Arab peace initiative, after the UAE and Israel announced on August 13 an agreement to normalize relations between them through American mediation, and it is expected that The agreement will be signed in the middle of this month at the US White House.

In turn, Jared Kushner, the US President’s advisor, said that the Arab League’s failure to condemn the normalization agreement between the UAE and Israel constitutes an important shift in the region.

According to the US news site Axios, Kushner said that the patience of the countries supporting the Palestinians has run out, and that they are seeking normalization with Israel in a way that serves its interests.

Arab peoples are watching how some Arab administrations ignore the Palestinian issue and prevent the Arab League from making a decision to support the two-state solution in Palestine and sabotage the common Arab position in this regard. We call on the Arab League to ensure security and stability in the region instead of being preoccupied with hostility to Turkey

Turkey and Iran

In a related context, the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs criticized the decisions of yesterday's meeting of Arab foreign ministers, and accused the ministry of what it called administrations that ignore the Palestinian issue and prevent the Arab League from making a decision on the two-state solution in Palestine, and try to sabotage the common Arab position in this regard.

In Iran, President Hassan Rouhani said today, during the inauguration of some projects, that "the Zionists are planning new conspiracies in the region, and unfortunately they have managed to deceive some Arab countries that must be more sensitive to the Palestinian issue."

On the other hand, the media advisor to the President of Serbia, Alexander Vucic, said that the transfer of her country's embassy to occupied Jerusalem is not final, adding that her country has not yet signed anything, and that it will monitor the development of the situation and how Israel behaves in relation to its relations with Kosovo.

The Serbian official’s statement comes less than a week after US President Donald Trump announced during his meeting with the Serbian President at the White House that Belgrade had agreed to move its embassy to Jerusalem.

Trump also announced that Serbia and Kosovo agreed to normalize relations with Israel.
