3 months grace period to pay the vehicle reservation fees before selling them in Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi Police gave violators of the decision to seize vehicles, which came into effect yesterday, a period of 3 months to pay the seizure fees before selling them in the auction, stressing that if their value is less than the fees due, the remainder will be added to the traffic file of the violator.

It explained that its recent decision regarding the application of fees for releasing the seizure of vehicles to a number of dangerous violations is a local decision, not a federal one aimed at reducing reckless behavior of drivers, which was carried out after traffic studies.

And stressed the obligation of drivers to pay full payment of traffic violations in the event that the total value reaches 7 thousand dirhams, and the vehicle will be seized if it is not paid.

And it announces the start of implementation of Law No. 5 of 2020 regarding the seizure of vehicles, noting that the violations that occurred before the announcement are not subject to the decision.

The Abu Dhabi Police General Command was a decision regarding the seizure of vehicles and clarification of the conditions for releasing their seizure in accordance with Law No. (5) of 2020 regarding the seizure of vehicles in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, where the value of the release of the seizure is 50 thousand dirhams when a police patrol is hit, or in the event of participation in road races without a permit Or the number plates were artificial, imitated or obscured, or bypassing the red signal, or driving the vehicle in a way that endangers the driver's life or the lives of others, their safety or security, with the aim of strengthening the traffic safety system in the emirate, achieving the highest safety standards for road users, and increasing their awareness The importance of adhering to traffic regulations
