The Director of the Aman House of the Social Services Department in Sharjah, Fatima Ismail, confirmed that the house in the Punitive and Correctional Institution in the Emirate of Sharjah has received 834 infants from among the children of female inmates since its inauguration in 2008, including 106 infants during the current year.
And she continued: “The home aims to embrace infants under two years of age, to provide safe social custody under specific conditions, and that the accommodation is temporary from birth to two years of age, and the Punitive and Correctional Institution management extracts all the official and official papers, in coordination with the Safety House and external bodies.”
She pointed out that during the outbreak of the "Covid-19" epidemic, the home worked to implement precautionary measures to ensure the safety of children and those in charge of them, as a sterilization gate was installed at the entrance to the home, and the staff concerned with providing services to children was assigned a permanent presence to ensure the safety of children in the home as part of precautionary and preventive measures. And the vaccination of children according to the specified dates, in prior coordination with the Al-Raqqa Clinic, as well as continuous communication through visual means of communication, to provide services and programs that meet the needs of the children, and the continuous sterilization programs have been applied to the home, and to provide their necessary needs to the home and residents.
It stated that during the current year 106 children were received, and a package of various services were provided to ensure their safety and not fall into the circle of social deprivation, and the garden of the house was renewed in a modern and safe way, so that children could enjoy their stay time, in addition to providing a set of games that suit their ages.
She indicated that with the beginning of the year 2020, the package of development programs and living services that were provided to them varied, reaching 69,656 services, which included various programs (religious, social, health, developmental and technical), in addition to medicine, periodic examination, medical telephone consultations, and referral to hospitals. And the issuance of medical reports from the authorities as needed, as well as nursing and pharmacy services, and self-care, as the total of medical care services during the current year reached 60 thousand and 103 services, and they were provided with great care during the "Covid-19" pandemic.
