The power of the people urged Minister Chu to resign, saying that the suspicion of preferential treatment turned out to be true when the son of Justice Minister Chu Mi-ae was serving in the military.
Emergency Response Committee Chairman Kim Jong-in criticized at a non-capital meeting, saying, "Even though (Minister Chu) touches the public's disgust over the military service issue, he confronts the people without even showing signs of reflection."
He continued, "It would be the duty as a high-ranking public official to decide on his own move by Minister Chu," he said.
At the same meeting, Ho-young Joo said, "Bun-su Yoo is also a red spot," and pointed out that "The novel that Minister Chu said is becoming a reality. The responsibility for proving that it is not a novel rests with the minister."
Joo Nae also appeared on a radio program and said, "The unfair problem of mother's chances has been revealed."

Rep. Yoon Young-seok said, "Minister Chu must resign at this point to ease the burden on the regime," and "I guess he will not resign until the end of September at the latest."
