Last year, the Värmland Region conducted a survey on pupils' drug habits in compulsory school year 9 and upper secondary school year 2. It shows that Kristinehamn is the municipality with the highest proportion of upper secondary school students in year two who answer that they have ever used drugs.

- Many people have a fairly easy-going attitude to drugs, and may not take it as seriously as it should be done, says Ida Thörn, one of the high school students in Kristinehamn that SVT Nyheter meets to hear what young people in the municipality think about the drug situation.

More answered: More risky with alcohol

18 percent of the surveyed high school students in Kristinehamn answered that they had tried drugs at some point.

Karlstad was 14 percent behind and Kil 13 percent.

The Värmland figure in total ended up at 11 percent, compared with the national average of 16 percent.

All upper secondary school students in Region Värmland's survey were also asked how they view the risks of alcohol versus cannabis.

A larger proportion (77 percent) answered there that they see it as more risky to be drunk every weekend compared to using cannabis.
