Despite its disastrous season that sealed it with a crushing defeat by Bayern Munich 8-2, Spanish club Barcelona became the first football club in the world to reach 10 million subscribers on its YouTube channel.

The Catalan club celebrated the occasion with its fans on social networking sites, and posted a special video on its channel for the most viewed clips on the channel on YouTube, while on the Twitter platform it tweeted the most prominent statistics of the escalation of subscriber numbers from 2006 to the present day.

By a huge difference, Barcelona's arch-rivals Real Madrid ranked second in the standings with 5.9 million subscribers, while Brazilian club Flamengo came in third with 5.5 million subscribers.
