“I believe it will be a strong signal if the EU nominates Svetlana Tikhanovskaya and her husband Sergei, who is still in prison, for the Nobel Peace Prize to pay tribute to all Belarusian detainees in the most peaceful movement in years,” Tusk wrote in Twitter.

Earlier, the former candidate for the presidency of Belarus Svetlana Tikhanovskaya wrote down an appeal to the citizens of Russia, in which she called the peoples of the two countries fraternal.

Tikhanovskaya is in Lithuania, her husband was arrested in Belarus.
