As RIA Novosti reports, the award was presented to her by the Polish Foreign Minister Zbigniew Rau, calling it an expression of great sympathy and great respect from the Poles for the Belarusian people.

In the morning, Tihanovskaya met in Warsaw with the Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

For a trip to Karpach, she was provided with a government plane, the agency specifies. 

Earlier, the former chairman of the European Council, the head of the European People's Party, Donald Tusk, proposed nominating Belarusian oppositionists Sergei and Svetlana Tikhanovsky for the Nobel Peace Prize.
