Dubai Future and Dubai Municipality launch the “Future of Building Technology”

The Dubai Future Foundation and Dubai Municipality announced the launch of the “Future of Building Technology” program within the “Dubai Future Accelerators” initiative, with the participation of 10 Emirati and international companies, with the aim of creating quality solutions based on employing advanced technology in developing building supervision and inspection services, and building project quality control systems. And to ensure that construction operations adhere to the standards and conditions approved in future cities.

The program supports efforts to strengthen effective partnerships between government agencies, international companies and emerging companies to employ innovative technology and improve the performance of vital and future sectors in Dubai and the UAE.

The director general of the municipality, Eng. Dawood Al Hajri, stressed that accelerating the employment of advanced technology is a major pillar in designing and developing future cities, and that Dubai Municipality is keen to adopt the latest applications and explore future and emerging trends to enhance Dubai's leading position as the best global smart city, and a preferred destination for living, work and creativity.

For his part, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, Khalfan Juma Belhoul, confirmed that the Foundation's strategy, adopted by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Chairman of the Executive Council and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Dubai Future Foundation, focuses on accelerating the adoption of innovation in various Vital sectors, enhancing investments in research and development, and activating the role of advanced technology and smart solutions to meet various challenges and turn them into opportunities.

The first phase of the program includes introducing technology companies to the objectives of the challenges, and the most important outputs required, so that, by the end of this phase, they develop their projects, and present their perceptions about the technical solutions that they propose in order to develop quality control systems in the construction sector.

The list of participating companies includes Emirati "Infralytics", "Falcon Viz" of Saudi Arabia, "Bim 6D" of Spain, "Australian Glass", "Wingtra" of Switzerland, and "UIP" from Singapore, and the two companies, "Air." Works and NXT Robotics from the USA, and Envir and Animand Life from the United Kingdom.

Five companies will qualify for the second phase of the program, based on a set of evaluation criteria that will be applied by a specialized committee, focusing on the proposed general concept of the idea, its test model, its implementation costs, the time frame for implementing the project, and its adoption of the best technological solutions and applicability.

The third and final phase of the program will see the allocation of a shared work space for companies that will be selected to work with Dubai Municipality to directly implement the project in the field, to ensure speedy completion and measurement of results.
