An investigation opened after the death of a man shot dead in Perpignan

A 45-year-old man, already known for cases of theft and concealment, was shot dead on the night from Monday to Tuesday, in Perpignan (Pyrénées-Orientales), a police source told AFP.

The facts took place around 1:30 am.

Wounded in the abdomen, the victim died on the spot, said the same source, without further details on the circumstances of the facts.

A place frequented by drug traffickers

His body was found near the Jean-Lurçat high school, in the Champ de Mars district, in Perpignan, a place frequented by drug traffickers.

An investigation was entrusted to the judicial police.
