Each of the two camps sees it as a triumph or a deviation from justice.

Actress Rhea Chakraborty was arrested by police after three months of judicial soap opera in the midst of a pandemic.

A torrent of accusations have hung over the 28-year-old woman since her partner Sushant Singh Rajput committed suicide.

The actor's family suspects her of manipulating, stealing and pushing him to death.

Suspicions widely relayed on social networks.

The Central Bureau of Investigation took up the case on August 19 and carried out numerous interrogations.

It was finally for providing cannabis to her ex-companion that Rhea Chakraborty was arrested on Tuesday.

The announcement delighted the fringes of public opinion convinced of its guilt.

But it made a part of Indian society jump, which on the contrary sees it as proof of its innocence.

Cannabis consumption is indeed widespread in India.

Many Bollywood celebrities have once again denounced a macho witch hunt.

For their part, several Republic TV journalists resigned in the face of the relentlessness suffered by the actress.

The channel, close to the ruling BJP party, had largely echoed all the twists and turns of the investigation.
