A citizen of Ukraine, 50-year-old Aleksey Alyoshin, cannot obtain the right to obtain Russian citizenship in a simplified manner for two years. Moreover, the man could not even get a quota for obtaining a temporary residence permit. He was born in Odessa into a family of philologists, fluent in three languages, including Russian. His grandfather was born in the Oryol region and fought in the ranks of the Red Army during the Great Patriotic War, but there is no information that he lived on the territory of the RSFSR. Thus, Alyoshin has no formal grounds for obtaining a passport of the Russian Federation using an accelerated procedure. After RT's request, Alyoshin was allocated a quota.
