September 08, 2020 - United States President Donald Trump has confirmed press rumors that he is ready to spend his own money to finance the presidential campaign against Democratic candidate Joe Biden.

Still according to rumors, the campaign is running out of funds.

"If I have to do it, I will," he told reporters before flying to Florida.

The tycoon claimed his campaign doubled or tripled the amount he had in 2017 but is ready to put "whatever it takes" into it.

The news had been anticipated by Bloomberg, according to which the president was speculating to spend up to 100 million dollars.

Although Trump personally contributed $ 66 million to his 2016 campaign, it would be unprecedented for a sitting president to invest his money to win a second term.

The New York Times writes that Trump's initial financial supremacy over Biden has evaporated: of the more than one billion dollars raised, more than 800 million have already been spent.
