The statements of the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, Nayef Al-Hajraf, in which he called for the Palestinian leaders to apologize, after they criticized the UAE against the background of normalization with Israel, sparked controversy between tweeters and activists on communication sites.

Al-Hajraf said in a statement that he "deplores the irresponsible language of incitement and threat issued by some of the participants in the meeting of the general secretaries of the Palestinian factions towards the GCC countries," without mentioning the name of the countries.

The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council denounced what he called fallacies, provocative statements, and questioning the historic positions of the GCC states in support of the Palestinian right, which were issued by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The Palestinian President had said on several occasions that Abu Dhabi had stabbed the Palestinian issue in the back with the normalization agreement with Israel.

Abbas stressed that the Palestinian leadership considers this step to undermine the Arab peace initiative, the decisions of the Arab and Islamic summits, international legitimacy, aggression against the Palestinian people, and neglect of Palestinian rights and sanctities, chiefly Jerusalem and an independent Palestinian state on the borders of June 4, 1967.

Tweeters expressed their strong rejection of the statements of the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, stressing that the right thing is for Al-Hajraf to ask the Emirates to apologize.

Because it violated the Arab consensus stipulated in the Arab Peace Initiative.

Others added that it was better for the Cooperation Council to denounce the crime committed by the UAE, instead of criticizing those who reject normalization with the occupation.

Honorable Brother Dr. Nayef Al

Hajraf,

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council

Greetings and respect:

Do I, as a citizen of the Gulf Cooperation Council, have the right to file a lawsuit against your Excellency against Ibn Zayed because he introduced the

Zionist

cultural, political and economic cancer

to the GCC countries?

With my thanks and appreciation.

No bottom of the swamp is

allied with an enemy occupying Palestine, and

when the

Palestinian

gets angry, they demand an apology.

How many times has Trump insulted them in recent years and no one opened their mouth?

shame on you.

On the other hand, others expressed their support for the Secretary General of the Cooperation Council, stressing their rejection of what they called offense and incitement against the states and peoples of the Arab Gulf by some Palestinian factions in the presence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

Others considered the statement of the Secretary of the Cooperation Council a great victory for the Saudi and Emirati tweeters and in response to their demands.

This position issued by the Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council came as a result of the efforts of the Saudi Twitter user and the Emirati Tweeter https://t.co/is4Q9wbqoV

An apology will not change thought and approach

What is required is the resignation of everyone who was exposed to a Gulf state

because # the UAE for us is # Kuwait,

and whoever offends them offends us all

What is required is the resignation of the elders of the factions, headed by Mahmoud Abbas,

and the liberation of Gaza residents from the occupation of Hamas

We are the ones who established their entity, and now the Palestinians have to choose who is loyal to us https://t.co/UKHcdbti4q

Most of the Gulf countries had peoples and ideologies in the category of targeting .. And that became hereditary in the cultivation of free hatred .. And some Gulf countries were silent about responding, in honor of several reasons.

However, this official announcement from the Council Secretariat proves that silence has reached its limit, and more realism must be considered, and hate speech and delusions must be addressed https://t.co/RERpSaw6ut
