Shaheen said, in an interview with "CNN" today, Tuesday, that the pharmaceutical cooperation between the United States and Germany through the companies "Pfizer" and "Biontech" is able to make a vaccine against the emerging infection of the Corona virus "Covid-19" ready for regulatory approval by Mid October.

Shaheen stressed that the vaccine has "excellent specifications," adding: "I consider this vaccine as a near perfect vaccine, with near-perfect characteristics."

He explained, "This gives us a lot of confidence, along with an understanding of how it works, with safety data coming from this experiment that is in progress .. Yes, we believe that we have a safe product, and we believe that we will be able to demonstrate effectiveness."

He indicated that he believed that approval for the emergency use of this vaccine would be granted quickly by the regulatory authorities.

Pfizer and Biontech have previously announced that they plan to provide 100 million doses of BNT162 by the end of the year, and up to 1.3 billion doses in 2021.

A wide range of countries, including Russia, the United States, Britain, France and China, are locked in a global race to develop effective vaccines against the emerging coronavirus infection.

Russia is the first country in the world to register a vaccine against the emerging corona virus, and it was called "Sputnik -" after the name of the first satellite in the world launched by the Soviet Union in 1957.

Earlier Friday, the results of a study published in the medical journal "The Lancet" confirmed that the "Sputnik-V" vaccine stimulated the formation of antibodies in all participants in the first and second phase trials.
