Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic and Kosovar Prime Minister Avdullah Hoti have resumed negotiations under the aegis of Europe in Brussels with the aim of reaching an agreement to normalize relations between the two countries.

They don't recognize each other, 21 years after the war in Kosovo.

The signing of a

controversial agreement

in Washington last Friday, in the presence of the American president, provoked a strong reaction from Europeans.

All the agreements between Belgrade and Pristina "

 must be in conformity with the rules of

the European Union

 ", announced a spokesperson for the European Commission who commented on the resumption of negotiations, this time in Brussels.

Negotiations and explanations

The allusion is clear.

The announced move of the Serbian embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem does not pass and the Europeans intend to put pressure on

Serbia

and Kosovo so that no embassy is built in the disputed city of the Middle East.

The Europeans also demanded detailed explanations from both parties on the nature of the commitments

made in Washington

.

In addition, the negotiations focused on the political aspect of a future agreement.

The issue of the missing was discussed, as was that of minority peoples.

And the community of Serbian municipalities in Kosovo, a project that has been hampered for seven years by Pristina.

Negotiations under the aegis of Europe resumed this summer, after more than 20 months of interruption, due to economic sanctions taken by Pristina against Belgrade, and since lifted.
