- We provide new conditions now to be able to increase the possibility of an infectious university exam this autumn, says Matilda Ernkrans (S), Minister of Higher Education and Research.

The government, together with the Center Party and the Liberals, has agreed to make UHR the authority responsible for conducting the university entrance examination.

Previously, that responsibility has existed at the country's 21 higher education institutions.

UHR also receives national coordinator as support and 30 million for the assignment.

The question of responsibility is unclear

During the work on the university entrance examination, it has become clear, according to Ernkrans, that the question of responsibility has been unclear.

- It is our hope that we will be able to take a helicopter perspective on these issues and be able to sort out some practical challenges that our universities have so far not been able to sort out because there has not been that type of organization, says Matilda Ernkrans.

People who want to take the university entrance exam, when can they expect a message?

- My picture is that UHR and the higher education institutions are all very keen that as soon as possible that the responsible authority gives notice.

But it must be the authority that decides this.

From the government's side, do you want a university entrance exam?

- The university entrance exam is important, and we must all do everything we can to get an infectious university entrance exam in place.

What do you think, will it be a college exam?

- In any case, I feel that we have done everything we can to get an infectious university exam in place and now we are doing a little more.

If anyone is trying to claim that we have not done enough, then I'm starting to think it's nonsense.

UHR is waiting

Since UHR announced on 7 August that the autumn test would be canceled, there have been various proposals to be able to carry out a test after all, including proposals to limit the test to only first-time printers.

The University and College Council has declined to comment on the issue during the day.
