Worn by a Cristiano Ronaldo author of his 100th and 101st selection goals Tuesday in Solna, Portugal dominated Sweden 2-0 for the second day of the Nations League.

In the silence of the Friends Arena in the suburbs of Stockholm, totally emptied of its audience by the health crisis, the winner of the first edition of the League of Nations dominated a Sweden reduced to ten after the second yellow card - and the expulsion of midfielder Gustav Svensson in the 44th minute.

The Seleçao dominated their host thanks to a brace from Cristiano Ronaldo, first on a free kick sanctioning the expulsion of Svensson just before half-time, then in the 73rd minute, taking advantage of a pass from João Félix to strike right foot in Robin Olsen's cage.

The reigning European champions are at the top of the group 3 classification of League A of this Nations League, ahead of France who won against Croatia 4-2, but have two goals less than Portugal .

On Saturday, France beat Sweden (1-0), and Portugal Croatia (4-1).

- Ronaldo's hundredth goal -

By scoring the two goals of the meeting, "CR7" thus brings his total of goals with Portugal to 101 units in 165 caps, approaching a little closer to the world record held by the Iranian Ali Daei (109).

Before the match against Sweden, Cristiano Ronaldo had not replayed since early August and the scathing elimination of Juventus Turin by Olympique Lyonnais in the round of 16 of the Champions League.

Suffering from an infection in the right foot and placed on antibiotics, the star of Juventus Turin had to forfeit Saturday's match against Croatia, which Portugal won brilliantly (4-1) despite the absence of his captain and star striker.

By coincidence, it was against this same Sweden that in 2013 he was able to equal Pauleta's record for Portuguese national team goals - 47 goals - in the return trip from the 2014 World Cup.

Cristiano Ronaldo had then lived an evening of anthology by qualifying his country thanks to a hat-trick, which had canceled a double from Zlatan Ibrahimovic (3-2), while he had already scored the decisive goal of the Portuguese victory at the go (1-0).

Portugal will play their next match against France on October 11 at the Stade de France, a "remake" of the Euro-2016 final won by the Seleçao.
