Cristiano Ronaldo said he was "very happy" to have signed "two huge goals", his hundredth and his 101st with the Portugal team, on Tuesday against Sweden in the Friends Arena in Solna, a venue where he still has "left (his) mark".

"These are two important goals because I managed to reach this record that I was looking for", declared the five-time Golden Ball at the microphone of the Portuguese public television RTP, after the victory of the Seleçao on the second day of the League of Nations (2-0).

"I am very happy, first of all because the team won (...) and of course the hundredth and then the 101st record, with two huge goals ...", added the star striker of Juventus Turin .

"Now, the record ... it's step by step. It's not an obsession, because I think that the records it arises in a natural way", continued the footballer of 35 years, who approaches a little more the absolute record held by Iranian Ali Daei of 109 goals in the national team.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored the 100th goal of his career in Seleçao on a free kick sanctioning a foul by Svensson in the 45th minute of play. The Madeira native resumed in the 72nd minute, taking advantage of a pass from João Félix to hit right foot in Robin Olsen's cage.

Chance of the meeting, it is against this same Sweden that the Portuguese managed in 2013 to equal the record of goals in Portuguese selection of Pauleta - 47 achievements -, in the return trip from the World Cup-2014.

Cristiano Ronaldo had then lived an evening of anthology by qualifying his country thanks to a hat-trick, which had canceled a double from Zlatan Ibrahimovic (3-2), while he had already scored the decisive goal of the Portuguese victory at the go (1-0).

"I left a mark the last time I played in this stadium. I knew that if I played today I would still leave my mark, and that's what happened," he said. he reacted to Solna on Tuesday evening.

Affected by an infection in the right foot and placed on antibiotics, "CR7" had to forfeit Saturday's match against Croatia, during the first day of the League of Nations, which Portugal won with flying colors (4- 1) despite the absence of its captain.

Ronaldo also commented on the context of the health crisis which is forcing footballers to play in closed stadiums.

"Health above all, he said, (...) but it's sad to play without supporters, it's like going to the circus without clowns or in a garden without flowers."

"Me, personally when I play outside I like to be whistled, it motivates me", he concluded.
