  • Marine Le Pen has made insecurity one of her themes during her political comeback, this weekend in Fréjus.

A new pass of arms between the government and the leader of the National Rally.

Has Marine Le Pen refused to vote on laws relating to security and immigration, themes that she addressed during the political re-entry of her party, this weekend in Fréjus?

This is what Gérald Darmanin supported on Monday.

The president of the RN, who has been sitting in the National Assembly since 2017, “did not vote for Gérard Collomb's law carried by the President of the Republic against terrorism.

It did not pass the finance laws […] to increase by 10,000 [the number of] police and gendarmes, ”the Minister of the Interior said on BFMTV and RMC.

“She also did not wish to vote for all the work that has been done against irregular immigration and against the misuse of the right to asylum.

FACT-CHECKING

Marine Le Pen is opposed to the bills mentioned by Gerald Darmanin.

Having spoken several times during the debates for the anti-terrorism bill, the member had previously called the project a "hoax".

She had voted against at first reading, in October 2017.

The text had divided the deputies: elected representatives on the left had denounced "a permanent state of emergency", while others, on the right, demanded a hardening.

In 2018, the asylum and immigration bill also received opposition from Marine Le Pen at first reading, who qualified it as a “null and void” law.

As for the three finance laws voted since 2017, they also did not receive the vote of the elected RN.

However, the latter voted this year in favor of the second amending finance bill, adopted to deal with the crisis triggered by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Since she sat in the hemicycle, Marine Le Pen has opposed the majority of the bills presented by the government.

In 2018, however, she voted at first reading in favor of the anti-fraud bill, then carried by… Gérald Darmanin.
