08 September 2020 The vaccine was administered to a group of six volunteers under the supervision of Dr. Stefano Milleri, director of the Clinical Research Center.

This is the vaccine produced and patented by the ReiThera company in Rome, for which experiments have already begun at the Spallanzani Institute in Rome.

"The vaccine - said Milleri - has passed pre-clinical tests, carried out both in vitro and in vivo on animal models, which have highlighted the strong induced immune response and the good safety profile, subsequently obtaining the approval of phase One of the human experimentation ".

The six volunteers are all from Verona, with ages ranging from 18 to 54 years.

They are all fine, they are constantly monitored and on Wednesday they will undergo the first checks at the Policlinico.

Further checks will be conducted on a weekly basis.

"If in six months they have not highlighted contraindications and have produced antibodies against the Coronavirus - commented Milleri in the local press - we could say that we are on track for the vaccine".
