One of the foremost Amazon experts is the American journalist and author Brad Stone, who a few years ago came out with the acclaimed book "The World's Largest Store" and is now writing a new book about Amazon.

He believes that Amazon is almost invincible and has a hard time seeing any other company running them.

However, more and more politicians have begun to review Amazon's strong position.

This summer, the European Commission launched an investigation to see if the company violates European competition rules.

Trump known critic

In the United States, President Donald Trump has long criticized the company's monopoly-like position.

Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos was also summoned for questioning by the US Congress this summer, among other things to respond to criticism regarding how certain salespeople are treated by the company.

- When you ask yourself what risks Amazon is facing, the big question is legislation.

What happens in the EU and Washington DC when decision-makers take a closer look at Amazon's position of power, says Brad Stone.

"Would Amazon do without Bezos?"

Another threat to the company, according to Brad Stone, is what happens on the day Jeff Bezos, Amazon's founder, CEO and largest owner, chooses to quit.

Jeff Bezos is 55 years old and although there is no indication that he wants to step down, that day will finally come.

- It is his company and much of their speed and ingenuity depends on him, says Brad Stone.
