US Assistant Secretary of State for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenker called on the parties involved in the Gulf crisis to resolve their differences, in order to face challenges and deter Iran.

Schenker confirmed - in a telephone briefing to the State Department - that there is interest at the highest levels in the American administration in resolving the Gulf dispute, which he said only serves the interests of Iran.

He pointed out that forcing Qatari planes to cross over Iran leads to the Iranian regime obtaining the fees for the fees it receives in return.

Regarding the agreement to normalize relations between the UAE and Israel, he stressed that his country respects the sovereignty of all Gulf states, but hopes that other countries will follow Abu Dhabi's example to normalize relations with Tel Aviv.

On the other hand, Schenker announced that there is a difference in the position on Hezbollah between Washington and Paris, as the United States considers it a terrorist organization while France considers it a legitimate political party, as he put it.

He said that his country supports the Lebanese people's demands for reform and transparency, and that the pressure campaigns and sanctions targeting Hezbollah and its supporters will continue in the coming weeks and months.
