Only the years spent together by an old Ecuadorian couple set the Guinness World Record.

On the 2nd in local time, foreign media including the US NBC introduced the life stories of his 110-year-old husband Julio and 104-year-old wife Waldramina, who were listed in the Guinness Book of Records as the'oldest couple in the world'.

Julio and Waldramina, who were school teachers when they were young, first met in 1934.

Julio, who was full of literary talent, wrote a poem to Mr. Waldrama and confessed his love, and Mr. Waldrama fell into such charm.

Seven years later, the two decided to marry, but both parents, who were displeased with their relationship, strongly opposed the marriage.

Julio and Waldramina ended up having a simple wedding at church with only close friends.

The old couple, who counted overcoming adversity and marrying each other as the best decision in their lives, are continuing a happy marriage this year for 79 years.

They have 5 children, 11 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, and 9 high-grandchildren, forming a truly'large family'.

Julio and Waldramina cited'love','maturity' and'mutual respect' as the secrets of being together so far. "From the beginning of marriage, we have had love and maturity. Through this, we know more about each other. I was able to go and grow emotionally.”

Guinness said, "If you combine the ages of the two up to the number of months, they reach a whopping 215 years old," he said. "Even when they cannot meet their families due to Corona 19, they rely on each other to fill their lives with positivity and happiness."
