There are a few hundred in a public park praying in homage to one of their own: Jay, 39, killed in a pro-Trump protest in Portland last week by an anti-fa activist.

Among them, many like Dan, army veteran and lumberjack, came armed, revolvers in their belts and assault rifles slung over their shoulder.

“

My weapon is to defend myself.

If someone pulls out their gun and starts shooting at me, I will respond by shooting too.

No one can stop me from speaking while I am armed.

 "

Assault rifle and

Blue Lives Matter

 "

All of them define themselves here as patriots and have come to the call of the pro-Trump Patriot Prayer small group.

The latter oppose head-on anti-racist demonstrators mobilized for three months in Portland against police violence.

To the slogan Black Lives Matters, Cherry, retired, responds with her flag "Blue Lives Matters", "Police lives count" in French.

“

We are just Americans who want to live our lives without being crushed by these Black Lives Matter Marxists and anti

fas.

They are anti-America

!

 », Exclaims the retiree.

After the

death of their comrade

, many like Tim, 60, think that the violence between pro and anti-Trump will increase further by November 3, the date of the US presidential election: "They killed one of us then we're going to kill one of them.

I hope it won't turn out like this, but I'm afraid it will.

Because people are angry.

"

This Monday, pro-Trump small groups are calling again to parade the streets of Portland.

What is perceived as a new provocation for the camp opposite.
