“The verdict handed down today by a Saudi court in relation to the murder of journalist Jamal Khashukji at the Kingdom's consulate in Istanbul did not meet the expectations of Turkey and the international community.

We still do not know what happened to Khashukji's body, who wanted him dead and whether there were local accomplices, which casts doubt on the credibility of the trials in Saudi Arabia, ”the Turkish official wrote on Twitter.

Altun urged the kingdom's authorities to cooperate with the ongoing murder investigation within Turkey's borders.
