▲ Chairman Kim Jong-un visits Hamgyeong-do, damaged by typhoon'Mysak'


North Korean media reported that hundreds of thousands of people responded within a day after Chairman Kim Jong-un appealed to party members in Pyongyang, the capital city, in an open letter asking them to recover from typhoon damage in Hamgyeong-do.



The Chosun Central News Agency reported yesterday (6th) that during a day, more than 300,000 party members petitioned to go to the Hamgyeong North and South Province damage recovery center, and that "the number of petitioners continues to increase as the workers are actively joining after the party members."



The Labor News reported that the executives of the party committee in Pyongyang held an emergency meeting as soon as the letter of Chairman Kim was released to discuss plans to organize the elite party member division.




The Propaganda Department of the City Party Committee spread the information to all party organizations in the city, adding that as a result, the elite party member division was formed yesterday morning.



North Korean media reported that trucks, excavators, heavy machinery, work tools, and materials needed for the restoration work also departed from Hamgyeong-do.



The Labor newspaper also published a large number of articles introducing the responses and reactions of all walks of life in Pyongyang.



Chairman Kim Jong-un held an expansion meeting of the Political Affairs Bureau in Hamgyeongnam-do, which saw the typhoon damage, and issued an open letter appealing to organize the elite capitalist division with 12,000 core members of Pyongyang and dispatch them to Hamgyeong-do.
