The Israeli Channel 12 reported that a normalization agreement has begun to mature between Israel and Bahrain, and that it is expected to be announced immediately after the signing ceremony of the Emirati-Israeli normalization agreement to be held at the White House about two weeks later.

The channel added that the head of the Israeli Mossad, Yossi Cohen, was in constant contact with senior officials in the State of Bahrain, with the aim of announcing the agreement and coordinating normalization between them.

The channel quoted Israeli officials as saying that a long column of the country is lining up to sign normalization agreements with Israel, and that Bahrain is currently considered the leader among them.

It also indicated that the United States is participating in the efforts made to reach an agreement between Bahrain and Israel.

Manama was one of the stops in two recent rounds by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo and Jared Kushner, an advisor to President Donald Trump and his son-in-law.

After announcing normalization with the UAE, Israeli Intelligence Minister Eli Cohen said that he expected Bahrain and the Sultanate of Oman to follow the example of the UAE.

"In the wake of this agreement, other agreements will be signed with other Gulf states and Islamic countries in Africa," Cohen said at the time.

It is noteworthy that Bahrain joined Saudi Arabia and announced that Israeli flights would be allowed to cross its airspace.

And Bahraini media quoted diplomatic sources as saying that the Arab League had rejected a Palestinian request to hold an emergency meeting next Monday, to announce the rejection of the Emirati normalization, due to Manama’s objection.
