The video shows the police trying to surround a group of people, including the 12-year-old girl who chooses to run past one of the police before another police officer tackles her to the ground and keeps her there.
The girl's mother tells Apple Daily that she and her brother were in a shopping mall and happened to be in the middle of the protests.
The police, on the other hand, say in a statement after the arrest that the girl and her brother behaved suspiciously and that the arrest took place in the least violent way possible.
