A member of the political bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, Musa Abu Marzouq, considered that the normalization agreement between the UAE and Israel "opens the door to evils", but will not affect the nature of the Arab-Israeli conflict. He also expressed his movement’s pursuit of a prisoner exchange deal with Israel while the latter is hesitant.

This came in an interview conducted by Anadolu Agency with Abu Marzouq in Istanbul, during which he touched on Emirati normalization, and issues related to Palestinian reconciliation and calm with Israel and the Palestinian prisoners in the occupation prisons.

Abu Marzouk said that it is natural for the Western and American media to promote the Emirati normalization agreement, because one of its most important motives is to serve the Western viewpoint regarding the Arab-Israeli conflict, by moving to a Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

He added that the UAE took this step from the forbidden door, and violated the decisions of the Arab summits ... and that the agreement opened the door to evils to break all Arab decisions on the Palestinian issue.

He explained that it is possible for the Emirates to join some lightweight countries, but neither it nor Abu Dhabi will affect the conflict, because it is far from it, and it was not among its tools such as Syria, Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Jordan.

On August 13, the UAE and Israel reached an agreement to normalize relations between them, which was met with widespread Palestinian condemnation, as the Palestinian factions and leadership considered it a "betrayal" by Abu Dhabi, and a stab in the back of the Palestinian people.

The leaders of the factions held a meeting simultaneously in the cities of Ramallah and Beirut with the participation of President Abbas (Anatolia)

Factions meeting

Concerning the meeting of the leaders of the Palestinian factions, Abu Marzouq said, "We had hoped that the meeting would have more impact and space at the Palestinian and media level, and more welcome at the official Arab level."

He added that the meeting establishes a new phase of cooperation, such as participation in political decisions, as a future picture of national action and its mechanisms, in addition to holding elections and others.

On the other hand, Abu Marzouk emphasized that Hamas wants all components of the Palestinian street to participate in the Palestine Liberation Organization, and that there be a struggle program in which all factions participate, and a mechanism to try to address the internal Palestinian issue.

He expressed his hope that there would be seriousness in reviewing and evaluating all the outcomes of the Oslo peace agreement signed between the PLO and Israel in 1993, and taking a path in the interest of the Palestinian people, considering that the Oslo Agreement tore the Palestinian people between inside and outside and between the program of political settlement and resistance.

On Thursday, the leaders of the factions held a meeting simultaneously in the cities of Ramallah and Beirut, with the participation of President Mahmoud Abbas, to discuss ways to confront the challenges of the Palestinian cause.

The final statement announced the agreement on national unity and rearranging the internal Palestinian home in order to address the challenges and plots facing the issue.

In the same statement, the factions unanimously agreed that the Palestinian issue is passing through a dangerous historical stage in light of what it called the "alleged American deal of the century" (the American peace plan), the Israeli annexation plan for parts of the occupied West Bank, and Arab normalization with Israel.

Pacification in Gaza

Regarding the recent truce agreement between the factions in Gaza and Israel, the prominent Hamas leader said that the living conditions in Gaza are getting worse day by day, the number of poor people is multiplying and institutions are collapsing economically, and the reason is the blockade.

He added, every time, partial solutions to the problems of the Strip were carried out, and the Zionist enemy returned to point zero, so people began to feel bored and expressed this through various means through contact with the Israeli forces on the borders or incendiary balloons.

He pointed out that the Egyptian mediator initially moved to calm down, but did not reach a conclusion, then the Qatari side moved, and tried to succeed the efforts and bear most of the consequences of the case, such as increasing financial payments to the poor in Gaza, solving the problem of late marriage, student fees and unemployment.

For about two years, Qatar has provided a monthly financial grant of $ 30 million, dedicated to relief for the poor in the sector, to be distributed to thousands of families at a rate of $ 100 per family.

Abu Marzouq added that the Qatari team was able to solve the problems and the truce was agreed upon in return for the enemy's return to its obligations related to easing the siege on the Strip.

On 30 August, Hamas announced reaching an understanding to contain the escalation and stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip.

This came, before Qatar announced the success of its efforts to reach a truce agreement between the Gaza Strip and Israel, and to prepare for the implementation of projects that serve the people of Gaza and alleviate the effects of the siege imposed on it for years.

At the beginning of last month, Gaza was in a state of military tension, after the Israeli army launched almost daily raids on sites it says belong to Hamas, under the pretext of launching incendiary balloons from inside the Strip towards the adjacent settlements.

Hamas said, at the time, that the incendiary balloon launchers were seeking to force the occupation to abide by the cease-fire understandings that include easing the siege on Gaza.

The prisoners' file

Abu Marzouk indicated that his movement is seeking a prisoner exchange deal with Israel, but the other party (Israel) is still hesitant to open this file due to many laws and things that it has put in place for itself, indicating that there has been no progress in the file yet, and we seek to have progress in any way. .

Hamas maintains four Israelis, two of them are soldiers, who were captured during the Israeli war on Gaza in the summer of 2014 (without disclosing their fate or health status), while the other two entered Gaza in unclear circumstances during the past years.
