A 22-year-old young man was discovered dead, on the night of Friday to Saturday, in Canet-en-Roussillon (Pyrénées-Orientales), learned

from the Perpignan prosecutor's office.

At around 2 a.m., a brawl between two groups of people broke out in the seaside resort, for a reason still unknown.

A second fight took place two hours later.

It was during this brawl that the victim was discovered lifeless, died of his injuries, continues the prosecution.

Autopsy Tuesday

The causes of death are not yet known.

An autopsy of the victim's body, to be performed on Tuesday, should allow investigators to find out more.

Ten people were arrested by the gendarmes, six of whom were referred to the prosecutor's office on Sunday, before the opening of a judicial investigation for "violence resulting in death without intention of giving it in meeting".

The six persons referred were indicted and five of them were remanded in custody.
