Iranian Parliament Speaker Muhammad Baqer Qalibaf said during his meeting with Swiss Foreign Minister Ignazio Cassis in Tehran that America's policy to impose its hegemony on countries is a fundamental reason for Tehran's strategy not to dialogue with Washington.

He added that his country has suffered great losses as a result of the US sanctions and will not forget that, and stressed that the United States ’measures have undermined security and stability in the region, and that European countries should not follow US policies, as he put it.

Qalibaf said that the UAE’s decision to normalize relations with Israel and to ally with it would negatively affect the security and stability of the region.

The director of the Al-Jazeera office in Tehran, Abdul Qadir Fayez, confirmed that the Iranian authorities were decisive in explaining that the UAE’s transformation into an “Israeli-American platform for targeting Iranian national security is a red line” that Tehran cannot ignore.

He also stated that Tehran believes that supplying the UAE with high-level weapons will open a major arms race in the region, for which Abu Dhabi bears responsibility.

The correspondent quoted the guide of the Iranian revolution, Ali Khamenei, as saying that the alliance between the Emirates and Israel will not last for long because it is an alliance of people and not an alliance of peoples, stressing that what happened is a "stigma" that will pursue the rulers of the Emirates.

For his part, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said that the UAE and Israel reached an agreement to form an alliance against Iran to protect American lands and the Middle East through the normalization agreement known as the "Abraham Agreement."

Pompeo added - in a television interview with "Fox News", the ministry published a part of it - that Abu Dhabi and Tel Aviv view Tehran as a great danger.

He pointed out that the agreement between the UAE and Israel to build a relationship through which an alliance could be formed, to make sure that what he described as the danger does not reach the American lands or harm anyone in the Middle East.

On the other hand, the US Secretary described the normalization agreement between the Emirati and Israeli sides as historic.

He pointed out that the Arab countries do not recognize Israel's right to exist as a homeland for the Jews as it should be, and the UAE has become the first country to take this step in more than two and a half decades.
