The heroic and model troops who came from the anti-Japanese beacon fire, each shining name has a magnificent epic chapter.
These heroic and model forces have inspired generations of officers and soldiers to loyally fulfill their missions, be determined to strengthen the army and win, and resolutely safeguard the country's sovereignty, security, and development interests.
We approached the four heroic and model troops in the War of Resistance to see how they continue their traditions, forge ahead, and launch new assaults toward the party's goal of a strong army in the new era.
"Zuoquan Independent Battalion" of a brigade of the 73rd Army:
Only the obligation to move forward, no right to retreat

On September 10, 1942, at the sacrifice of General Zuoquan, the Eighth Route Army headquarters awarded them the honorary title of "Zuoquan Independent Battalion".
This team of heroes who have gone through counter-attack "Nine-Road Siege", counter-"sweeping", Hundred Regiment Wars and the defense of Huangyadong has continued to grow and develop in the battle.
"In 2019, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China, I passed through Tiananmen Square with the flag in my hand. At that moment, I deeply felt proud to be in such a camp." Recalling this, the flag bearer Wang Xianguo was very proud.
Back to the company, in order to make up for the lack of training progress, he put in more effort than ordinary people.
With perseverance, Wang Xianguo's military training assessment results were rated as excellent at the end of that year.
Under the parade ground, groups of officers and soldiers of the "Left Power Independent Battalion" used actions to raise this banner and polish the background of the soldiers.
In the battle to defend Huangyadong, the officers and soldiers showed fearless heroism.
Facing the flamethrower, squad leader Wang Xizhen took the lead in jumping out of the fortifications, pulling a grenade in the flames, and died together with the enemy who broke into the position; the 17-year-old siren Cui Zhenfang, bravely got out of the bunker, threw more than 80 grenades in one breath. After annihilating more than 40 people, they were hit by stray bullets and died gloriously. Three soldiers, including Wen Desheng, dragged their wounded bodies and defended their positions. They ran out of ammunition and food, and their weapons were damaged. They walked to the cliff hand in hand and jumped off calmly. The Eighth Route Army Headquarters awarded the title of "Three Warriors of Nanshan".
How ambitious to sacrifice.
Inheriting the anti-Japanese spirit left by the ancestors, this team of heroes who came from the flames of war has never stopped advancing on the road to a strong army.
In April this year, the "Zuoquan Independent Battalion" participated in the professional basic evaluation of the group army's organizational battalion (company). This was the first time that the battalion appeared before the officers and soldiers of the entire group army after the reform.
"On the battlefield of the Anti-Japanese War, General Zuo Quan and the martyrs exchanged their lives for peace. Today, we must not be ashamed of the blood-stained camp flag!" said Fang Liang, the instructor on the eve of the expedition.
The tense assessment unfolded as scheduled.
Light weapons shooting, 5km armed cross-country, 800m red-arm breaststroke, 400m obstacles... the course is coherent, time tight and close to actual combat.

Business card: The predecessor of this company was the 1st company of the 4th Division, 11th Brigade and 31st Regiment of the New Fourth Army during the Anti-Japanese War.
In May 1945, the company destroyed a regiment of puppet troops at the expense of 90 men in the Battle of Sunan, and captured more than 100 puppet agents.
After this battle, the company was awarded the honorary title of "Strike Hero Company" by the 4th Division of the New Fourth Army, and the trumpeter Wang Liansheng was awarded the title of "Second Class Fighting Hero".
In September, the company was organizing cliff-climbing training at the field training site in the western border of the motherland.
On the plateau at 4,500 meters above sea level, the officers and soldiers are fully armed and climb the cliffs with ropes.
On the cliff, the banner of the "Company of Attacking Heroes" fluttered in the wind.
The predecessor of this unit can be traced back to the New Fourth Army guerrilla detachment formed in Zhugou Town, Queshan County, Henan Province in June 1938.
The title of "Company of Attacking Heroes" came from a famous battle on the eve of the victory of the Anti-Japanese War-the Battle of Sunan.
In May 1945, the War of Resistance Against Japan entered the stage of a full-scale counter-offensive. The Japanese and puppet troops, unwilling to lose, were still making their final resistance.
The puppet troops mainly gathered in artillery towers and bunkers, while the New Fourth Army units were poorly equipped and lacked artillery and heavy weapons.
When attacking a three-story artillery building, a group of commandos rushed up, facing the flaming tongue of the machine gun in the artillery building, they never got down.
At a critical juncture, company trumpeter Wang Liansheng took the initiative to invite Ying.
Braving the rain of bullets, he climbed the turret with more than 20 grenade racks and took it down in one fell swoop.

In the 1990s, the company was transformed from an infantry company to a special operations company.
Facing the changing times, officers and soldiers began to study how to turn potential into ability.
A series of special warfare courses such as parachuting, swimming, and blasting are gradually being carried out.
Today, this company has been transferred to a special reconnaissance company of a brigade reconnaissance battalion of the 76th Army.

In September 1937, the 5th Division of the North China Front Army of the Japanese Army approached the Great Wall in order to break through the Pingxing Pass.
The company served as a commando, intercepted the vanguard of the Japanese army, wiped out more than 100 enemies and destroyed more than 20 vehicles.
After the war, the company was awarded the honorary title of "Pingxingguan Battle Assault Company".
The rain is pouring and the road is muddy.
In late summer and early autumn, a battle drill kicked off in a certain area in southern Liaoning.
"Search the trenches and expand the results!" After the company commander Wang Changxi gave the order, the officers and soldiers leaped off the chariot, stormed into the thorny bushes in the rain, slammed into the enemy trenches, and finally planted the flag on the "enemy" high ground. .
Nearly a hundred commanders above the regiment level who watched the scene gave their thumbs up: "It is indeed the brave and tenacious'Pingxingguan Battle Assault Company'!"
"Once you take the frontiers, you will run to the battlefield with generosity and tragedy. The first draw is at Xingxingguan, and your fame spreads..." The heroic "Eighth Route Army Song" is one of the company's favorite songs.
In the fierce battle that year, the bullets ran out, and the soldiers mounted bayonets and engaged in hand-to-hand combat with the rushing Japanese army.
The platoon leader sacrificed the squad leader to replace it, and the squad leader sacrificed his fighters to take over the command. In this way, the squad leader continued to fight. In the end, there were only more than 30 people left in the company, and they remained on the high ground.
As a result, the company formed an assault spirit of "fighting and rushing into the enemy line for the first time."
The company instructor Liu Tiancheng said that this precious spiritual wealth must be passed on.
Nowadays, whenever a recruit enters the camp, the company’s first activity is to visit the honor room; every time a major task is performed, the officers and soldiers will solemnly swear to the company flag; every anniversary, they will organize commemorative activities to understand the glorious history and inherit the war of resistance. spirit.
At the beginning of the adjustment and reform of the force in 2017, more than 90% of the officers and men in the company involved post adjustment and professional exchange.

"Liu Laozhuang Company" of a brigade of the 82nd Army:
Improve the ability to win to defend honor
Business card: In 1943, the Japanese invaders launched a "sweep" on the Huaihai Anti-Japanese Base. The company fought desperately with more than 1,000 Japanese troops in Liulaozhuang, Huaiyin, Jiangsu.
All 82 warriors fought bloody battles, killing and wounding more than 400 Japanese and puppet troops. In the end, they were outnumbered and all died heroically.
After the war, the Huaiyin people selected 82 outstanding youths to re-organize the 4th company, which was named "Liu Laozhuang Company".
