The State appealed against the decisions of the administrative courts of Strasbourg and Lyon asking the prefects of Rhône and Bas-Rhin to modify their decrees generalizing the wearing of masks.

Guest of Europe 1 on Saturday, the mayor of Lyon, Grégory Doucet, quickly hopes for a "clear" directive.

INTERVIEW

The obligation to wear a mask outside, which concerns certain large French cities such as Paris, Lyon and Marseille, continues to be debated.

The Lyon administrative court ordered the Rhône prefect on Friday to relax its decrees concerning this obligation in Lyon and Villeurbanne.

The state appealed on Saturday against the court's decision, as well as a similar one concerning the Bas-Rhin.

The Council of State must decide Sunday at 11 am.

"Justice considered that the general measure was exaggerated", explains Grégory Doucet, invited Saturday from Europe 1. The mayor of Lyon calls for a "clear" directive.

"We're going to have to find a way to both protect ourselves and not infringe on individual freedom."
