Russian fighters intercepted U.S. strategic bombers in the Black Sea and the Azov Sea

Xinhua News Agency, Moscow, September 4 (Reporter Leo) The National Defense Management Center of the Russian Ministry of Defense issued a statement on the 4th that Russian fighters intercepted three US strategic bombers in the Black Sea and the Azov Sea that day.

The statement said that the Russian army found three U.S. Air Force B-52 strategic bombers approaching the Russian border over the neutral waters of the Black Sea that day.

In order to prevent US military aircraft from infringing on Russian airspace, 4 Su-27 fighters and 4 Su-30 fighters from the Southern Military Region of Russia subsequently lifted off in the Black Sea and the Azov Sea to intercept them.

The US military aircraft did not violate Russian airspace.

The statement said that the Russian fighter planes always abide by the rules of international airspace use during the flight, and return to the base after the US military plane moves away from the Russian border.

NATO aircraft headed by the United States often arrive near the Russian border for reconnaissance activities, and Russia has always firmly opposed this.
