The Roads and Transport Authority in Dubai changed the classic brown vehicle number plates to a new design inspired by the old Dubai plates dating back to the 1980s.

It is distinguished by the presence of the yellow color, with some design improvements to be in line with the design of vehicle plates in Dubai.

The Director General and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Authority, Mattar Muhammad Al Tayer, said that the new design of the classic vehicle panels is distinguished by clarity and ease of reading from a distance.

The plate includes two elements, the words "Dubai" and "Classic", in Arabic and English, on a yellow background, and the vehicle number on a white background.

Al Tayer indicated that the authority will start disbursing the new classic plates to those wishing to acquire them, starting from next November, through the authority’s website or the Customer Happiness Center in Deira.

It should be noted that there are criteria for classifying a vehicle as classic, the most important of which is that it is 30 years old or more, and that it meets the technical inspection procedures.
