According to the results of a survey of 3,327 companies headquartered in Tokyo from July to August by Tokyo Commerce Research on the 5th, the preferred form of the competition, which has already been postponed for one year to next July due to Corona 19, is The most common at 30.7%, and 22.4% said they should postpone.



On the other hand, 22.3% of respondents said they want to hold the event next summer.



In addition, 19.3% supported the proposal to place the spectators spaced apart, and 5.3% answered that it should be opened even with no spectators, and overall, the response that they wished to hold was less than half.



When it comes to the impact of cancellation, postponement, or holding without a spectator on corporate management, 1,836 companies, 56.7%, said it was difficult to answer.



However, out of the remaining 1,491 companies, 78.5% answered that "there is a great negative impact."



Regarding the negative impact, many responses cited that the company would be hit by a decrease in customer sales, or that foreign tourists would not come.



Tokyo Commerce Research points out that the direct demand-generating effect from hosting the Olympics will reach 2 trillion yen even in Tokyo, and pointed out that administrative support for companies is needed if the event is decided to cancel the event.



Meanwhile, on the 4th, the Japanese government started operating a meeting to explore ways to open next year's Olympics in a situation where Corona 19 is still prevalent.



The meeting, which is attended by the government, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, and the competition organizing committee, will hold four more meetings within the year to release a report detailing specific countermeasures in various fields such as immigration control, inspection and medical systems, and operation of the venue.



The Japanese government is considering measures such as not requiring the athletes to wait for 14 days (quarantine) after entering the country.
