An air conditioner exploded with gas in a mosque (mosque) outside of Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, inflicting more than 50 casualties.

According to local media and foreign media such as bdnews24 on the 5th, at Vitus Salat Jame Mosque in Patula, Narayanji, on the outskirts of Dhaka, the gas leaked from the gas pipe exploded the previous evening, causing six air conditioners inside the chapel to explode.

At that time, there were about 100 believers praying Friday evening in the chapel.

Witnesses said, "With a roar, all the windows of the mosque were broken, and people with fires ran out into the streets and rolled around."

Police said, "At least 50 believers were injured, and 37 of the injured were transferred to a burn hospital. All patients transferred to the burn hospital were in critical condition."

The burn specialist hospital told the media that 12 people were killed by this afternoon, starting with the announcement that "a 7-year-old boy who burned almost 95% of his body has died."

He added, "There are currently many serious injuries, so the number of deaths could increase."

The fire department is investigating the exact cause of the accident, presuming that the gas leaked from the gas pipe condensed inside the mosque and then exploded.
