Powers of governors in an epidemic

Speaking about the effectiveness of measures taken in the context of the situation with COVID-19, President Vladimir Putin noted that the practice of giving governors additional powers in a pandemic helped not to stifle the economy and “not miss the blows” of coronavirus infection.

Answering the question whether the strategy of empowering governors with additional powers in the situation with COVID-19, the head of state said: "Of course it worked."

“It was impossible to comb everyone's hair with the same brush.

This would either lead to the fact that we would have strangled the entire economy, or missed the strikes of the coronavirus infection, "Putin said in an interview for Sergei Brilev's film" Indispensable State Council "on the Russia 24 TV channel.

He stressed that after such a decision in Russia, "many countries have repeated the same practice."

"And good.

By the way, this suggests that we hear and see each other, we exchange these best practices, and it turned out to be good, ”the president summed up.
