Two young women aged 18 and 21, from Lyon and Givors, were arrested Wednesday morning in the 2nd arrondissement of Lyon after stabbing a food trade employee.

Known to have already committed shoplifting, the two accomplices were immediately spotted by the man in question, said the Sûreté du Rhône on Friday.

The victim first asked them to open their handbags in order to perform a visual check.

Which they refused to do, insulting the man and attacking him physically.

The two young women then left before returning a few minutes later.

The youngest then knocked over more spokes before spraying the employee with tear gas and stabbing him in the chest.

Drunk at the time of the incident

Taking flight, the duo were arrested a few streets away by a crew from the BAC who came as reinforcements.

Supported by the SAMU, the victim, whose right lung would have been perforated, "presented a vital prognosis not committed", specifies the Sûreté du Rhône.

The tests, carried out in police custody, revealed that the two young women were drunk at the time of the facts.

They must be presented to the Lyon prosecutor's office this Friday for a judicial investigation for attempted homicide and aggravated violence.
